The Mills Canyon Camping Area is set where the open grasslands of northeastern New Mexico meet the end of the Rockies. The canyon was formed by the Canadian River, which cut a dramatic gorge through multi-colored rock and created an area abundant in beauty and recreational opportunities. Enjoy hiking, hunting, camping, fishing, horseback riding, off-roading, bird watching, night sky photography, and world-class bouldering. You can choose to camp along the rim or down 1,000 feet in the canyon.
