Hyde Memorial State Park is in Santa Fe’s backyard! Just 20 minutes from downtown, these 368 acres offer year-round outdoor recreational activities. Birds and wildflowers abound in spring; summer is best for hiking, camping, and mountain biking; autumn brings the changing colors of the aspens to photograph and paint; and winter offers fantastic cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding. It is New Mexico’s first and highest state park, with elevations ranging from 8,200 to 9,300 feet.
